Dr. Anwar Abdulhameed Alnajjar
Chairperson, Kuwait International Family Medicine Conference
The Kuwait International Family Medicine Conference (KIFMC) has long stood as a premier forum for advancing family medicine and fostering collaboration across the Gulf and beyond. It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 4th Kuwait International Family Medicine Conference, where we reaffirm family medicine as the cornerstone of safe, comprehensive, and evidence‑based health care. Over successive editions we have built momentum—sharing knowledge, strengthening practice, and shaping policy. This year we sharpen our focus on integration and leadership to drive meaningful health‑system reform.
Under the theme “Family Medicine — The Foundation of Health Care,” this edition highlights models that place family medicine at the centre of care pathways and population health improvement. Family physicians are more than clinicians: they are community sentinels, leaders, and policy partners. Their continuous relationships with patients provide unique insight into population needs, social determinants, and service gaps, making them indispensable in designing realistic, equitable, and implementable national strategies. Our sessions will equip clinicians with practical tools to influence policy, lead teams, and translate frontline experience into sustainable system change.
The program also turns the latest evidence into everyday practice with targeted sessions on chronic non‑communicable diseases, preventive care, and the practical application of digital tools and artificial intelligence for decision support and practice enhancement. Practical skills and multidisciplinary collaboration are central to our agenda: hands‑on workshops, allied‑health integration, and professional development pathways—including the WHO‑endorsed professional diploma, the College of Family Medicine, and WONCA—will strengthen clinical proficiency and career progression.
By offering a comprehensive program spanning clinical excellence, administrative leadership, community engagement, and research, the 4th KIFMC aims to consolidate family medicine’s role in reforming health systems—reducing fragmentation, duplication, and waste—while protecting workforce wellbeing and fostering continuous innovation. Join us to present your work, challenge assumptions, and collaborate across disciplines so together we can strengthen primary care and improve health for all.
Warm regards,
